PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Detectors and sample slides form one unit User-friendly PC software AMS (Activity measurement system for measurement and data acquisition)

Project Details

SIMULTANEOUS AND SEPARATE MEASUREMENTS OF ALPHA AND BETA LOW ACTIVITIES

The 10-Channel Low-Level Counter LB 790 allows simultaneous and separate measurements of low activities for alpha and beta radiation emitting radionuclides with a detection limit of approx. 12 mBq for Alpha (Am-241) and approx. 22 mBq for Beta (Sr-90).

The measuring system LB 761 Alpha-Beta Low-Level Counter for 200 mm Planchets allows the simultaneous measurement of alpha- and Beta- activity of a sample in two separate measuring channels. The background count-rates of the system LB 761 are extraordinarily low, so that good detection limits can be achieved.

HIGHLIGHTS

General

  • Detectors and sample slides form one unit
  • User-friendly PC software AMS (Activity measurement system for measurement and data acquisition)
  • Service-friendly with regard to maintenance and repair
  • Guard counter above the measuring counter for suppression of cosmic radiation (anticoincidence)

Features

  • LB 790: Simultaneous α- and β-measurement (10-fold sample slide for measuring planchets up to Ø 60 mm)
  • LB 761: Simultaneous α- and β-measurement (1-fold sample slide for measuring planchets up to Ø 200 mm)
  • Modular detector pairs (2 detectors per module)
  • Very low background guaranteed by 10 cm lead shielding on all sides

PC Software: AMS

  • Parallel connection of several detector systems simultaneously (up to 4 systems)
  • Automatic background subtraction
  • Automatic half-life correction
  • Live display of the detected activities and cpm values
  • Stored measurements can be displayed on the monitor and evaluated at any time
  • Data analysis with comprehensive graphics commands

DIFFERENT VERSIONS

LB 790 10-Channel α-β Low-Level Counter

The low-level activity measuring station LB 790 enables the simultaneous and separate measurement of even small activities of alpha and beta radiating radionuclides. Up to 10 sample bowls can be measured at the same time, whereby the associated sample information can be conveniently entered before the measurement using the associated PC software and evaluated after the measurement.

The detectors and the sample drawer – one single unit – can be pulled out of the lead shielding in case of repair. Should this be necessary a metal support and 9 lead bricks have to be removed. This enables an easy servicing of the low-level system, such as detector exchange.

LB 790 – 5L

Our low-level activity measuring station is available in various versions.

The LB 790-5L has 5 individual drawers for 2 samples each: Depending on your sample throughput and sample type, the number of sample positions belonging to a measurement series can be varied and changed if necessary.

With our LB 790-5L system, each of the five drawers can be loaded individually, so that up to five different sample measurements can be performed independently of each other.

LB 761 α-β Low-Level Counter for 200 mm Planchets

The low-level measuring station LB 761 for 200 mm planchets enables the simultaneous measurement of alpha and beta radiation components of a sample in two separate measuring channels. The background rates of the system are exceptionally low, so that very good detection limits are achieved.

The detector system can consist of several detectors (number depends on free slots and USB interfaces), whose measurement results can be calculated by a computer and the evaluation program AMS.

For customers with high sample throughput and at the same time different sample sizes, we offer a hybrid version. To save space, various activity measuring stations from our portfolio are combined. For example, our 200 mm measuring station can be used as a hybrid with the 10-fold low-level activity measuring station LB 790.
