PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The HAGUE 7000 14C sampler is the perfect instrument for measuring low levels of Carbon 14 in air in its gas and organic forms. Particular applications include sampling of air from stacks, hoods, rooms and the environment.

CARBON 14 SAMPLER WITH 4 VIALS (OVEN) – HAGUE 7000

What do I measure ?

The collected soil solution is analyzed by spectrometry in a laboratory to determine the quantity of radionucleid (CO2, CO, organic C). The 14C concentration is calculated with the quantity of air which has been sampled.

An entirely new concept, this C14 sampling equipment brings original solutions in the exploitation of sampling systems for CARBON gas and CARBON water. This sampler is mainly used for the detection of chimney rejects and CARBON wastes degassing.

The conception of this machine has been essentially focused on optimum sampling efficiency associated with ergonomics adapted to all utilization conditions. The liquid solution can now be collected monthly (instead of a usual weekly frequency) thanks to a cooling system water circuit that will prevent all sample loss due to evaporation in the feeding-bottles. Its original dynamic tightning system on the four feeding-bottles, permits manipulation (on/off) particularly confortably of this device in all circumstances without pressing back nor solution loss.

A microprocessor pilots and manages all functioning parameters, insuring thus a total security in its utilization on long periods.

Working principle Carbon 14 is trapped in a soda solution or a scintilling liquid for further spectrometry analysis in a laboratory. The carbon 14 contained in the sampled air is either as CO2, CO gas or organic C.
– The CO2 gas is directly trapped into the first and second bolltes.
– The CO gas and organic C are oxidized in the oven to form CO2 which is trapped in the third and fourth bottles.
The ratio between radionucleid quantity measured in the bottles and the quantity of swallowed air allows to calculate the C14 concentration.
